1) What is ASA of Oklahoma?
ASA-OK is the Oklahoma branch of the American Subcontractors Association. OUr main purpose, as stated in our mission, is to foster, promote, encourage and develop the best interests of subcontractors, material and service supplies in the construction industry. We were founded in the late fall of 2002, received full chapter status in March of 2003.
2) What kind of people and trades join ASA-OK?
ASA-OK members work in masonry, drywall, pluming, steel, mechanical nearly every specialty trade in the construction business. ASA-OK members are from both open shop and union companies, ranging from small private firms to large specialty contractors. Our members also come from support and service providers, including insurance and bonding companies, and accounting services. As of December, 2005 we have over 100 members and the number grows each month!
3) What kind of services does ASA-OK provide?
ASA-OK provides countless benefits to its members. Almost every construction industry need is offered through networking with other ASA-OK members.
4) How will I receive information from ASA-OK?
ASA-OK will keep you informed on industry developments though monthly meetings in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa, though our monthly newsletters, this web site and frequent notices by email, FAX or mail.
5) Does ASA-OK meet frequently? When? Where?
Our meetings are held in both Oklahoma City and Tulsa for the convenience of our members. Monthly meetings in Oklahoma City are held on the 2nd Tuesday of the month for evening meetings and the 3rd Wednesday of the month from 11:30am to 1:00pm with an alternating lunch and evening schedule. Tulsa meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of the month with an alternating lunch and evening schedule. See a list of our next meeting dates click here. For educational programs click here.
